Reshade breaks a lot in ffXIV, needed a lot of effort, and the ui was worse and harder to customize. Like 4 months ago went back to Gshade after my like 6th install of reshade breaking presets. Looked into it and the bad actor was long gone and was working fine so I gave it another try.

Yes absolutely if you want actual colors in the game. The base game has this ugly white filter over the top of everything that washes out the color. Once I used reshade in HW I couldn't go back even after taking a one year+ break from the game during HW. Also with things like Gshade now it's even better.
