I would not assume that would mean clutch replacement as this is an electrical circuit code and the actuator is replaceable without removing the transmission. In my experience, this code is most often caused by an internal failure in the TCM (transmission control module).The TCM is a very common failure. The P090a code is actually a code for a fault within the tcm so you do have a code for the tcm. I feel it was set because of the broken shift fork though.
