Its not like they've got a new team of writers in since SL and the start of DF screams to me that they have run dry in the ideas department. Not really. Daggerfall did it first in 1996. Morrowind had playable Orcs around Warcraft 3 release. The Elder Scrolls Orcs have also never reverted to following an evil leader several times. Daggerfall did first in 96 and it had little impact.
